Icelandic horses

Made using sewing thread. This is different trials to make a good exterior of the horse and make the proportions handsome. The diagonal lines changes according to the needs of the pattern. The band is about 2,5 cm's across.

This shows both sides of my old and very used belt for making tablet weavings. It was my first attempt to make my own pattern using 3/1 double faced broken twill and I think it was made in 1982. The pattern does only have one diagonal texture and the picture of the horses is not very clear, but it kind of gives the pattern speed, I think.  The belt is 5,5 cm across. A picture of a horse band is shown in Egon Hansens book about tablet weaving, but the pattern is not in the book. (When I have made the pattern up to date and in a pc friendly version, ill make a link for it.)
